White Monkey Pekoe
White Monkey or Bai Mao Hou grows along the slopes of the Taimu mountains in the Fujian province of China. Made by harvesting exclusively by hand only the top two leaves of the plant, the young and unopened buds are carefully gathered and processed, resulting in a tea that appears intricately woven with large and beautiful white tips looking like white-haired monkey’s paws, hence the name.
The roughish, slightly downy leaf produces a light-green, smooth cup with a slight note of honey. A luxurious tea for the true connoisseur.
